Variations for Piano (1994)

Variations for Piano begins with a staightforward statement of the material to be varied, a harmonic progression. Throughout the work the progression is used intact or unraveled in various ways to create rows. The piece lies in three large sections (basically, fast/slow/fast); at the same time it is divided into two parts, the second being a variation of the first.
